Neptune and Venus Swooning

Michelle Pfeiffer as Titiana, her Venus in Pisces + Sun in Taurus

The blue king of all the D words has gotten under Lady Love's shimmering skin. Dreamy and distracted, delirious and desiring of... what exactly? In the dark moon shadow of the eclipse nearly here, it is hard to be definite. And that is just how Neptune likes it, all the better to let his glamour cultivate what plays behind the thinning veils.

Venus at the divinely far out end of the zodiac is queen of the impending solar eclipse, not any ordinary new moon in the rippling realms of Taurus. Her meetings with magic in Pisces, Neptune and Jupiter respectively, bookend the syzygy and flavour the elixir we all soon shall drink.

Today it was Neptune who has Venus swooning as all our heads disappear into the clouds. Compassion and delusion breach the stratosphere hand in hand. The fairies whisper their tales into willing ears piqued. The rosy haze a perfect pretty smokescreen, the current of enchantment a powerful spell all of its own. So does the spiritual meet the material as the ineffable dances cheek to cheek with fleshy reality. The air hangs thick with mutability and things could go every which way or deliciously astray. Not a thing is just as it seems.

As prelude to an eclipse and the soft entry point of the stilling, this aspect plays sweetness and light to Pluto's dark arts as he stations to drill even further into the shadow during retrograde. Urania zaps and twitches at the gate to the future. Witches murmur of the sabbat. Sages wonder at the commotion. Mystics muse and peer at the portal as it makes its presence felt.

The dark moon arrives like a blessing with so much else going on. It offers a stillpoint from which to reorient your dizzying self. A quiet word or two in your ear and a last chance saloon before the season has its way with you. This calm before the perfect storm of an eclipse draped over us like a glittering shawl, beaded with the stars in our eyes.

Enchantment is the oldest form of medicine
