Mercury Firecracker

Art from Miss Firecracker by Lorelei James

After so very long wafting about in Pisces, Uncle Merc's charge into Aries way back a week ago was welcome relief. Just add Venus and Chiron and we found ourselves jacked up on newfound firepower, ready to tell it like it is. Our cosmic communicator and militant overthinker fairly danced into the ram's lair, shortening fuses and heightening passions as brute cerebral force led the charge.

His time here so far has been productive, non? Perhaps a tad combative and undeniably incendiary, it has nonetheless made for straight talking and very little fucks given as to how it is received. And so despite the dark moon ebbing away now with its imperative to charge only for the nearest bolthole and the balm of solitude, Merc is having none of that.

He is seeing us and raising us until the new moon as he squares off with Saturn and the south node and then Pluto, both newly retrograde in Capricornia. All while standing shoulder to shoulder with the queen of don't fuck with me in Aries. Eris as goddess is built on discord and troublemaking with a penchant for starting wars. Eris as planet stirs up much of the same in us, matching Pluto in size and fury.

Merc square Saturn raises our issues with authority and makes us allergic to anyone telling us what to do or how to do it. It does however make for diligent comms and structural revisioning, the kind you can see from space. Merc square our past may mean it raises its ugly head, if only for the purpose of killing the zombies and exorcising those pesky ghosts.

Merc square Pluto is a ticking time bomb fairly aching to go off like a packet of crackers. Obliteration is rarely a first port of call but just add Eris. A newly smoking ground zero is ripe with possibility and the potential of rebuild, the kind of transformation by chaos Pluto cultivates.

A lot of what happens over the next couple of days will be hard to undo, for better and worse. Choose your battles wisely and kill only what you have already mourned. Let your irritation and your fury be the barometer it is and listen beyond the shouting to what it tells you about your life. There is little point winning the fight but losing the war.

Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.
