Saturn at the Station

Art by Beth Hoeckel

That weight you're feeling, the dragging of feet and the labouring of sighs, is courtesy of Saturn stationing to turn retrograde tomorrow. As part of the Capricorn dancing that is reframing us to fit our 2020 vision, first Pluto and now Saturn back their respective trucks up for the better part of the year.

Saturn's reverse grind is slow and methodical, with no plans to leave any foundation stone unturned. His well thought out purpose is beyond due diligence. This is revision of our structural integrity in every sense.

It spells the death knell for those without it, be they fat cats with spurious agendas or dinosaurs with dicks. His rx puts the heaving patriarchy on the kind of notice it gives everyone else. And nods a hearty heads up to the slippery fish who barely escaped with their lies under the confusing cover of Merc's rx.

It is not for nothing that Father Time squats on the south node as he changes direction and our past shimmers and shakes at us. It is well beyond time for us to bid adieu to the aspects of self that have never actually worked for us. Those that have contributed to the fault lines and the quaking. Saturn's overarching quest is for us to do this shadow work diligently and ardently, taking no short cuts and fluffing none of it.

Saturn wants us to grow up and take responsibility. For our past. For what we did or didn't do. For our place in the world and how we operate within it. He wants us to learn how to exercise control and use our power wisely. He will force us to question under whose authority we operate. He will wrestle our procrastination and poison our blame. He is inexorably linked to karma and its ripples through our lives and he will be driving the consequences of our actions home hard.

Saturn at play in our lives is rarely fun but it is hellishly effective. He asks us to dance the line between the creation of our reality and our dank submission to its limits. During his retrograde, all our chickens will be coming home to roost. Only you know what you have truly sown in your hen house. You and Saturn.
