Eclipse Incoming

Did you see La Luna rise this evening in spectacular fashion? We are in the shadow of the full moon now, which falls in Scorpio on April 25th (UTC) or April 26th (AEST). In the Southern hemisphere this is our Frost Moon, as nights become misty and morning are cold. Winter beckons and this is a time for home and hearth. In the Northern, it is the Pink Moon named for the heather that begins to sprout heralding high spring, with hints of the approaching Summer.
This moon is particularly charged as she is also a lunar eclipse, when the moon passes through the shadow of the sun. This eclipse will be visible in Europe, Africa, Asia & Australia and lasts for 27 minutes, kicking off at 7.55pm on the 25th (UTC) or at 5.55am on the 26th (AEST). During this eclipse as the shadow falls across the moon, we effectively see La Luna in all her stages, waxing and waning as she does throughout the month, in the space of a mere half hour.
Eclipse season happens in series every year and this is the first for 2013, with two more to come in May. Eclipses are always times of transformation – of beginnings and endings, when our cages are rattled and life seems to tip on its axis. What happens during an eclipse often sticks – whether that is a difficult conclusion or a delicious new beginning. One thing you can be sure of during eclipse season, things will change.
